Overcoming insomnia
First how to do it yourself (then you can teach your clients) if you start self hypnosis with count down deepening (works just as well with count up) as you count down yawn and count slower and slower and slower having given yourself the suggestion that before you reach one you'll be fully asleep.
It's 12:15 a.m. now so I'll go to bed and continue in the morning....
Ten....
!2:30 a.m. I did go to sleep but a nightmare woke me up. So method two. Again count down or up. I suppose us has the advantage that you will never stop until you are sleeping. That is also its disadvantage. Anyway the suggestion is that on even numbers you open your eyelids and close them on odd until you drop into a wonderful peaceful creative sleep.
P/S. the nightmare was about finding the elixir of life and how immortality is a curse not a boon but that belongs under spirituality and hypnosis....
Anyway that time by adding the suggestion for a peaceful creative sleep, I ended up with a peaceful sleep and how this writing goes perhaps relates to the creative aspect of it.
I feel that a good hypnotherapist must be an expert at self hypnosis and be capable of entering a deep trance rapidly. At the same time the more trance phenomena that you can demonstrate yourself the easier you can teach these to your client. Remember that all hypnosis is self hypnosis and your job as a hypnotherapist is being a guide and teacher. The best way to teach is through knowing how to do.
That's why I started with teaching you a couple of methods of using hypnotic methods to go to sleep rapidly. However, in my experience occasional insomnia arises from worry and having something on our mind. Therefore using hypnosis and NLP to overcome worry and obsessing helps best with insomnia.
