Learn to love your body - change your body image
We live in a world where all our media teach us about the beautiful people who are anorexic and unhealthy. Believe it or not, there is an ideal weight for each person. Yet it appears that not only here in America, but also, more recently, all over the world, an increasing number of relatively affluent people, are unhealthily overweight or underweight, while a smaller and smaller number of people are in that sweet spot in the middle (within ten percent of ideal weight).
There is a rule that what you resist, persists. Thus, the first step in weight management (increasing your weight if it is too low, or decrease if too high) is acceptance of where you are and having a decent body image. You need to love yourself the way you are before you can change. When you love yourself you will not shove junk (food) down your throat or starve yourself to illness and an early grave.
Thus changing your body image from hatred to acceptance and unconditional love is a very important aspect of weight management. We do a little of this in the Michelangelo Weight and LIfe Management SeminarSM where we use hypnosis to help our client love his/her body.
I'll soon have a CD on this issue.
